Discovered on Venice Beach: Sunset Open Mic

Hi everyone, it’s Josh from VIII Music Radio. Happy 2026!

We’re kicking off the year with a series of events in LA, across the country, and around the world.

Starting local, we’re setting up a PA system at Venice Beach and giving musicians the opportunity to perform in one of the most vibrant creative spaces in Los Angeles.

Be discovered by the diverse audiences Venice Beach naturally brings. As a musician myself, I’m looking to collaborate — and I know many of you are too. Open mics are where connections are made, bands are formed, and sometimes where musicians are discovered.

Artists are encouraged to perform covers or originals. We’ll begin at 2 PM, with sign-ups available in person.

Not a musician? Still learning? Come be a part of the movement by enjoying the show. I’ll be hosting, DJing, and performing acoustic covers throughout the event.

At VIII, we’re building new ways to shape creative futures. Thanks for reading — and for being a part of VIII 2026.

    Who we are

VIII is the roman numeral for the number 8. Prounced as “vee” or “v-triple-i” or simply “8,” this symbol became apart of the Hamilton music underground in Ontario, Canada. Now operating in LA, we are broadcasting to a global audience while continuing to have a local impact. We are the new generation and this is our music and art.

VIII Music Radio is our outlet to bring together a global community. Enjoy one of our immersive experiences, collaborate with other aspiring artists, or be discovered as we highlight the best new songs each year.
